BioTechnology is a skills-based, hands-on class where students learn/practice lab techniques currently used in biotechnology in a variety of fields. If you like solving problems, discussions, and hands-on learning you will like this class. Field trips are part of this class. This year's class worked to to identify an elephant herd in Africa by tusk DNA, identified 'patient zero' who started an epidemic, and will bioengineer a bacteria to glow. What will you do?	Top 5 Reasons to choose this elective College credit may be earned with a grade of B or better. Class is taught at a high school level but college credit is available. Job skills are taught. Interesting topics/current events/biotechnology is happening all around us. The world is our textbook. Homework is light but learning is deep.

Syllabus Example BioTechnology Special Opportunities Students will have the opportunity to do an internship/job shadow, do their own research project, and enter a BioExpo competition.
