BEFORE YOU MAKE THE DECISION TO TRY OUT

Please carefully consider the following :

Cheerleading involves more time and responsibility than most people realize. For our year round program, you need to be willing to give up a minimum of 12 hours a week starting in June continuing through until the end of basketball season and the Spring sports assembly in April. The demands upon a person's time and energy are great, and all cheerleaders must be able to successfully balance school, cheerleading, homework and their social lives. Cheer takes priority over everything except school. Your various commitments must be taken into consideration before you decide to try out. Camp dates are set for July 8th through 11th, and are mandatory for all squad members to attend in the summer. We are a competing squad as well, there are weekend competitions for those chosen to participate.

- Clearance Papers (must be completed online, https://edmonds-schools.rankonesport.com

- Candidates will perform one of two cheers they learn during tryouts, the dance routine, and basic stunts in front of the senior cheerleaders and judges.

- The coach will be conducting individual interviews.

- Scores are based on mile run time, staff evaluations, attendance, and discipline records (30%), their performance, participation and attitude during tryouts (40%), and final performance scored by judges (30%).
