Mountlake Terrace High School Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that Mountlake Terrace High School sits on the traditional homelands of the Suquamish, Stillaguamish, and Coast Salish Peoples. The land of these tribes was taken by colonizers using the Treaty of Point Elliott, which to this day has never been fully honored. We also recognize the 29 tribes throughout Washington state. As we learn today, we commit to remembering the genocide of Indigenous Peoples in the US and ask you to take a moment to reflect on the history of the land on which you stand.
