RESOLVE SCHOOL OBLIGATIONS

Return all Textbooks and Equipment
During times when school funding is a challenge, turning in items helps our school (and taxpayers) save money because we will not have to purchase replacement items.

 Pay All Fees and Fines

Seniors must also pay all outstanding fines and fees.  Payments can be paid online at this link: https://wa-edmonds.intouchreceipting.com/

Graduation ceremony tickets are held until all school obligations are resolved. Graduates may not participate in the ceremony until all fines and fees are cleared.

Commencement Celebration AND BEYOND

Ceremony Date:  Saturday, June 13th, 2:30p -4:30p at Edmonds Stadium
Participation Requirements
Effective this year, seniors will be eligible to walk at graduation only if they meet ALL graduation requirements prior to the graduation ceremony date.  Seniors must have earned all appropriate credits, completed their High School and Beyond Plan, and met the Graduation Pathway requirement. (Students with an active IEP may graduate with their grade level peers regardless of graduation requirements being met. School Board Policy 2415)
All fines and fees must be paid/cleared in order for the graduate to participate in the graduation ceremony.
Mandatory Graduation Ceremony Rehearsal
Graduation ceremony rehearsal will be held on Friday, June 12th at 10 am in the Main Gym. Attendance is mandatory for all seniors who are walking. Rehearsal will continue until everyone is comfortable with the proceedings. We kindly request that you refrain from lingering on campus and depart immediately.
Graduation Ceremony
Graduation ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 13th, please arrive at the venue by 1:00pm and proceed to the Edmonds-Woodway High School gym through the doors on the west side of the building (the doors face the stadium).
For families and guests, gates will open at 2:00pm. Graduates will be sitting facing the audience in either a south set, or a north set of chairs. Graduates should inform their guests which set of chairs they sit in for best viewing. Once the ceremony begins, guests will not be permitted to move seats.
Ticket Information
Tickets will be distributed after the graduation rehearsal. Each graduate will be given 4 tickets for the graduation ceremony. You will need to have your Senior Checkout form, and High School and Beyond Plan Requirements (Naviance) completed prior to receiving your tickets. Seniors who have not completed those requirements will not be allowed to pick up their graduation tickets.
No Senior Checkout form / Naviance completion = No Graduation Tickets.
If you require additional tickets, you can indicate how many extra tickets you are requesting on the Additional Ceremony Ticket Request Form (A form link will be emailed to senior students in the Spring).
Extra ticket requests are not guaranteed.
Edmonds Stadium Seating and ADA Accommodations Request
Seating at the stadium is available on a first-come, first-served basis, with no assigned seating.
Students will know if they are seated on the north or south side of the field. They should inform their families of their seating location so families can choose seats for best viewing. Your ticket grants you entry to the event.
ADA seating is found in the stadium and on the field. We want to make sure everyone feels comfortable and included. If someone in your party requires seating that complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), please →  Complete the ADA Request Form Here  (and if they need assistance from a family member, please share the guest's name on that form). Only one person may accompany the person requiring ADA seating.
If you request ADA seating for an individual and require another individual to accompany them, those tickets are included in your graduate's ticket allotment.

Graduation Ceremony Dress Code
Our ceremony is focused solely on celebrating this important milestone in the lives of our seniors. The purpose of our graduation ceremony dress code is to allow celebration of individual achievement while not causing disruptions or distractions from the ceremony as a whole.

During the ceremony, students must wear the traditional cap, gown, tassel, and stole package.  Gowns will be zipped closed during the ceremony.

Students will wear school issued cords and stoles on top of any club or cultural items.

Native American students may wear tribal regalia and items of cultural significance, augmenting, adding to or replacing the MTHS traditional package.

Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander students may wear flower/leaf leis as an item of cultural significance. (Respecting this cultural significance, we ask that students who do not self-identify as Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander refrain from wearing leis.)

Students may wear personally supplied cords and stoles and may decorate caps and stoles within the following guidelines:

Must be school-appropriate according to the Student Handbook - Mountlake Terrace High School guidelines.

The cap, gown, and stole must remain in their original shape.

Cap decorations must be flat on top of the mortarboard.

Personally supplied items and decorations must fit within the following categories:

  • Thanking a family member, teacher, mentor or friend
  • Recognition of post-secondary plans
  • Recognition of high school achievements and activities
  • Items of cultural significance
  • Your graduation year

Students may NOT add personally supplied items or decorations that:

  • Replace school-issued items
  • Change the original shape of the cap, gown, tassel or stole
  • Light up or hang from caps or stoles
  • Are disruptive to the ceremony or detrimental to the safety and welfare of other students

Please do not wear shoes with spiked heels or spiked shoes!  Graduates will be seated on the turf field. Spiky shoes will tear the turf, causing costly repairs.  If students arrive wearing such shoes, we will ask that they change their shoes.

Guest Reminders

Guests are to be sensitive to others in the crowd. Please do not: use air horns or noise makers; stand during the ceremony to take pictures or video; or stand in any walkway.

No balloons, noise makers, or signs are allowed in the stadium.

After the Ceremony

Families are welcome to gather for hugs and photos outside the stadium. For the safety of all, please do not gather in the parking lots.

Google Drive Export

As you prepare to graduate from high school, you should be aware that all the data in your school Google account (Google Drive, Gmail, Blogs, Sites, etc.) will be archived in September, and you will no longer be able to access it.  Please read these Google Drive Export instructions to complete this task.
Final Transcripts/Diploma Certificates
Final Transcripts
When a student meets all graduation requirements and applicable requirement waivers are processed, we will be able to issue final transcripts that students may use to verify they have graduated from high school. Final transcripts will be ready in late June unless otherwise noted.

To have a final transcript electronically sent to a college, students must complete the Senior Exit Survey and request the final transcript in Naviance.
You can also visit the Edmonds School District Transcript/Diploma website for instructions about how to obtain your transcript.

Diploma Certificates
Each year, we have graduates who are surprised that the diploma cover handed to them at graduation does not include their diploma certificate.  The official diploma certificates will be ready for pickup in late August from Mountlake Terrace High School.
